Involved Parents Students Protect Friends

There are a number of ways that parents can both prevent and recognize a problem with prescription drugs. These fall into three main categories:

  1. Educate yourselves.
  2. Ensure your home is safe from prescription drugs.
  3. Look out for warning signs of prescription drug abuse.

Following are ways you can keep yourself and your friends safe:

  1. Form friendships with people who aren’t using prescription drugs.
  2. Avoid parties or other social situations where drugs will be included.
  3. If you find yourself in a situation where a friend has taken prescription drugs, watch over them closely until you know for sure they are OK.
