International Overdose Awareness Day Rally
Purpose:
- Raise community awareness about the impact overdoses are having on our local communities
- Drive a call to action
- Remember friends and family members lost to preventable overdose deaths
Included:
- Information about advocacy opportunity and local community resources
- Naloxone training and rescue kit distribution
- Special guest speakers including Assemblywoman Catherine Baker, Dr. Ken Saffier, NCAPDA’s April Rovero, Support 4 Recovery’s Dominic Aliano, Contra Costa County’s Public Health Director Dan Peddycord who will share what is being done to tackle addiction and overdose deaths and share how others can get involved in saving lives
- Special music by Amy Copper
- Lost Loved Ones Memorial, including dove balloon release, candles, open mic remembrance
