Life’s Too Good Art & Video Contest @ Throughout the U.S.

Join the ride!  Let us know through your original art and videos what’s good in your life that helps keep you substance free!  Two contests at once – both art and video with 3 winners for each contest.  Deadline to submit is 4/15/21 and winners will be announced at NCAPDA’s Art for Action event on 4/29/21.

For Teens: Medications – Help or Harm? @ Virtual via Zoom

This event is for high school youth and will be led by NCAPDA’s Youth Ambassadors and Key Club leaders from Northgate and Las Lomas High Schools in Walnut Creek, CA.  The potential for addiction, overdose and other negative impacts from misuse/abuse of prescription drugs such as painkillers, sedatives/benzodiazepines, stimulants and will be discussed and overdose rescue training will be provided.

Medication Safety Workshop – For Seniors and their Caretakers @ Virtual via Zoom

Join representatives from NCAPDA and Visiting Angels for a medication safety workshop that ALL Seniors and their caretakers should attend.  Learn about factors that make Seniors more vulnerability to prescription drug dangers.  Learn about signs of possible medication misuse and how to respond to an accidental opioid overdose.  Special tips for family and caretakers will also be provided. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

Opioid Overdose Rescue Training @ Virtual Zoom Session

Join NCAPDA for opioid overdose rescue training that share vital information about the risks and side effects of prescribed painkillers/opioids and how to avoid developing an opioid use disorder (OUD) from them.  Learn how to recognize the signs of overdose and how to reverse it by administering naloxone.  Also learn how to obtain naloxone, FREE if you can’t afford it,  and how to connect with both important prevention and addiction treatment resources.
